Dementia is a global health issue that needs to be addressed with urgency, especially in Asia. As such “The Enabling Festival” (5-7 October 2018) seeks to showcase possibilities that focus on the enablement of people living with dementia to provide them a better quality and dignified life.

This three-day community festival is a kaleidoscope of multi-disciplinary activities in the areas of visual art, music, design, theatre, film, dance, photography, medical forums, hands-on workshops, a simulation walk through the Enabling Room and a Designathon. This festival is made possible with the support of Central Singapore Community Development Council’s Do-Good-Fund, DesignSingapore Council, Our SG Fund and venue host – National Design Centre.

The festival is a consolidation of comprehensive and support from various sectors such as medical sciences, caregiver, mental wellness, performing and visual arts; all under one roof to raise awareness in addressing this impending health issue.

Enable Asia Meets
Boy George:

A Silent Art Auction

Boy George is an English singer, songwriter, DJ, and fashion designer. He is also the lead singer of the Grammy and Brit Award-winning pop band Culture Club. He signed this self-portrait in Singapore on 11 Dec 2017. This piece of artwork will be up for a special fund-raising auction at the Enabling Festival.

Art Meets
Science

The day Music married
Technology!

The firm belief is that music can transcends language and cultural differences and serve to inspire, unite and heal. The Enabling Festival’s theme song - “Hold my Hand” performed by Sara Wee is embedded with a therapeutic non-invasive low-wave frequency that stimulates the brain of a person with dementia.
